My Year-End Review for 2012

The turn of the years allows me to review the highlights. 2012 was to be a "success year" for me.

The turn of the years allows me to review the highlights. 2012 was to be a “success year” for me.

For my other blog, The Planning Stage, which is the blog connected to my coaching business, LifePlan, I recently wrote a post about setting intentions for this New Year.

With this blog, I sometimes reflect on the more personal aspects of my life, as well as being a showcase for my work with dreams and Tarot. I wanted to do that with this post, with regard to looking at my 2012 year.

I tend to be an introspective fellow, so I take the end of the year as a time to do a review, in terms of the intentions I set at the beginning. I was especially excited about this year, as this was to be a “year of success” for me.

My birth path is the Master Number 33, which I have written about in the past. This path is known as Master Teacher and Healer.

Allow me to explain. As many people know, some of the coaching work I do involves the use of numerology, in that I calculate the birth paths of my clients, and see how that birth path number indicates the true work that client has come to the planet to do. As I have written previously, my birth path is 33, which is the path of the Master Teacher and Healer; my Great Work involves the use of psychology, clairvoyance, and healing, making the work I do as an intuitive coach a natural extension of who I am.

We all also have career cycles or reinvention cycles that we go through. These are nine-year cycles that reflect various stages of our work and our lives. For the year 2012, my career/reinvention cycle was a 6, which is what my birth path reduces to, if you were to add the digits together (33=3+3=6). When one’s career/reinvention year cycle is the same as his or her birth path, it is said this will be a “success year” for the individual.

Looking back on 2012, I looked at the things I was able to achieve:

One of the highlights of 2012 for me came early: I was able to attend a coaching convention in Vegas.

One of the highlights of 2012 for me came early: I was able to attend a coaching convention in Vegas.

February 2012: I was able to travel to Las Vegas for the first time. I attended a reunion with the graduates of the coaching institute (Life Coach Institute of Orange County) I studied with to become a life coach.

March 2012: I was able to leave my corporate management position to work on my coaching business full-time. This action alone would set the stage for a lot of the experiences I would have later in the year, as it created the time I needed (I was working an average of 70 hours a week at this job) to develop and grow my business.

April 2012: I was given the opportunity to give a presentation centering on my work as an intuitive career direction coach. I presented information to help the participants calculate their birth paths and reveal to them aspects of their Great Work.
It would be an opportunity to work with some of the attendees as future clients.

Another highlight was getting to attend the annual International Association for the Study of Dreams convention in Berkeley, CA. The theme was "Traveling on the Sea of Dreams."

June 2012: I attended my first convention as a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams in Berkeley, California. I always wanted to see California, so this was being able to live out a life-long dream. Another thing about the trip was being able to be around other people who work with dreams in various ways (there were laypeople, counselors, educators, and even neuroscientists in attendance), spending time in workshops, lectures, and symposiums, all about dreams. Lastly, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet people whose works I have read and admired over the years in my own studies of dreams (I was such a fanboy when  author and dream expert Gayle Delaney approached me and introduced herself!).

July 2012: I celebrated my first year as a coach, and my first year in business!

August 2012: I was asked to be a guest on the “Awakenings” show on Kinetic Hi-Fi Radio. The moment I sat in the chair in the radio studio, and put the headset on, with the radio mic in my face, I intuitively knew it was going to be an experience that would have a ripple effect (all experiences do to some extent, but I felt it strongly in that moment). The host, Gypsy Spirit, would ask me to return the following month.

This year my work with the Tarot gained more attention through opportunities to appear on internet radio shows.

September 2012: I returned to do another interview on “Awakenings.” This time I got to read the Tarot on the air. That was so much fun!

October 2012: I was asked to be a guest on another radio show, Just Love, with Melvina Renee, on Blog Talk Radio. Melvina would ask me to be a regular guest, being on the show once a month. Also this month, Gypsy Spirit would ask me to be a co-host on “Awakenings” one night a week.

(If you are interested in listening to some of the appearances I have made on internet radio, you can check out my media page by clicking here.)

November 2012: I graduated from the University of the Rockies, earning my Master of Arts degree in Psychology. A moment I am very proud of, as there was a lot of work involved in that experience (Statistics and research design was especially challenging!).

While I had a lot of professional achievement, one of the greatest personal achievements of 2012 was graduating from university and earning my MA in Psychology.

December 2012: One of the highlights of this month was the opportunity to give a presentation on the Tarot that centered on our Tarot birth cards and how they are a part of our spiritual growth and evolution. It was a lot of fun! The other highlight of this month was a moment I call a “happy accident.” A Tarot colleague called me, wanting to know if I could pitch-hit for her with regard to a Tarot gig. I accepted, and was the reader at The Tattooed Moose, a local watering hole in my downtown Charleston, South Carolina. What I didn’t know was that the event was an “end of the world party” (it was on 12/21/12) and that it made local news and TV coverage. People approached me, letting me know they had seen me on the news! I didn’t even know! What a neat way the Universe arranged for me to gain some more local exposure!

And that was my 2012. The year did manage to live up to its expectations of being a year of success for me. It was such a great year that I am so excited about the possibilities for 2013! And you know that I will keep you updated!

Hoping that your 2013 is a success,

James
