Today’s Tarot: What’s Your Motivation?

The 7 of Thought, from the Guardian Angel Tarot.

The 7 of Thought, from the Guardian Angel Tarot.

When the 7 of Thought comes to mind, its message is to think about what motivates your actions—and to consider the same for those around you.

In the image on the card, a young boy is attempting to take a bunch of grapes from the sleeping girl’s basket without waking her up.

But is he?

Or is he adding more to her pile to surprise her when she awakens?

This card, traditionally known as the 7 of Swords, can be considered the “theft” card, and can suggest that someone is trying to get away with something and not wanting to attract attention.

But all things being relative—and a matter of perception—it could also suggest that someone wants to do some good—and remain anonymous.

So, as you go about your day today, check your motivations. You’ll find them underneath the actions you take throughout the day.

And be mindful of the motivations of others. Their motives might not be what you think.

Your partner in motivation,

James
