When the 8 of Wands zips its way into your day, its message is to buckle your seat belt—because things are moving–and moving fast!
This is a card of things speeding up (one of its name over the years is “Swiftness”). It suggests rapid growth and development.
It’s also about communication, so be on the lookout for news and messages that come your way today. It can mean that word is getting around about something—and that news is traveling fast. I see this as activity on the internet, and the fastest way we used to communicate through the internet was e-mail; now that has been trumped by text and instant messaging. So you might want to keep an eye on those inboxes!
The 8 of Wands can be a card of travel, going with the idea of it representing movement and speed. So, if you find yourself out and about, you may experience having to zip in and out of places and spaces because you have so much to do (the 8 of Wands can suggest a flurry of activity). The most common mode of travel with this card is by air, so someone may be coming in—or going out—on the “red eye.”
If you’re the entrepreneurial type (the 8 is the number of the entrepreneur), seeing this card bodes well: you may have a lot of “irons in the fire” (Wands can typically represent the element of fire and is the suit of business and enterprise), or launching some projects. The trajectory of the wands, in this sense, suggests that not all those projects can be put out into the world at the same time; some are contingent on the success of others going out before.
So, no matter what your profession, or the activities you choose to engage in today, be sure to take some time to let those who matter to you know that you care for and appreciate them (this card can be about letting our loved ones know that we care about them and appreciate them). They’ll love that you took time out of your busy day to tell them how you feel.
