Oracle Outlook: Angel Card Reading for August 22-28, 2016

This week marks the third time, in as many months, that I’ve had a “blue moon effect” here in this space—meaning that a particular type of reading has happened twice in the month.

This week there’s another Angel card reading for the month of August (the first was at the top of the month). And it comes at a time when I’m continuing to try out different things with the readings I conduct here.

When I started doing the Angel card readings here, I was using up to three different decks, each one performing a different facet of the reading.

But after the last Angel card reading with the Oracle of the Angels, I have to admit that I liked just using one deck. So I’m doing it again, this time using the Daily Guidance from Your Angels Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue (published by Hay House).

So, after an invocation (calling in the energies of the angels), I’m taking the deck in hand, asking Spirit and the angels what are the messages for us pertaining to the week ahead.

After shuffling the deck, I pulled three cards for this reading: the first for the beginning of the week; the second for the middle of the week; and the last to round out the rest of the week.

Cards for the Week

For the beginning of the week, we have See Only Love.

Here, we have an angel holding a heart, with wings on it, in the palm of her hand. Behind her is the backdrop of a full moon.

I go to the moon first, as we just experienced a full moon last week and you may be coming off the heels of its energies, especially if you’re “moon sensitive” like me (I had bouts of both sleeplessness and sleepiness).

The full moon is also a time of releasing, and my first thought is the angels are acknowledging the work you’ve done in this regard; having the moon behind the angel is almost like saying you’ve “put something behind you” by releasing it.

Also, the moon can be a representation of Archangel Haniel, and a message from her to honor and listen to your intuition, as it’s always softly and subtly speaking to you, in the background.

Your intuition works through your feelings, which is symbolized by the heart; in the hand, it sends a visual message to be open and receptive to your intuition, by noticing your feelings (the angel looking at the heart).

See Only Love is a message from the angels to take the energy of love and apply it to the people, places, and situations we encounter this week. The card, in part, reads, “Look past the seeming errors, mistakes, and misunderstandings, and see only the love within each person (including yourself).”

As I read those words, I’m reminded that we’re in the shadow phase of Mercury going retrograde, and that’s a time for miscommunications and misunderstandings to take place.

To help us see with love, the heart with wings, to me, symbolizes the angels of love, and along with them, Archangel Chamuel; Chamuel means “Eyes of God” and his angelic energy can help us see people and situations in a different light—one that can be both loving and compassionate.

For the middle of the week, the card is Have Confidence.

Looking at the image, the first thing that catches my eye is the angel is looking at the path behind her. This can symbolize a path you’re on right now, or one that you’re considering embarking on.

Either way, this card is a message for you to have confidence in yourself moving forward.

The angel places a flower in her hair, and I see this as a message from Archangel Jophiel, whose name means “Beauty of God,” to keep your thoughts positive (she helps with positive thinking) about yourself, and the direction you’re moving in.

Alongside of Jophiel is Archangel Ariel, the angel I associate with confidence. If you find yourself needing a boost, call on the energy of Ariel, as she’ll assist you with the strength and determination to keep going.

The angel is seen dipping one foot in the water before her. This can be a message to “dip your toes” into this new path, to “test the waters,” so to speak. Going with the feeling aspect of See Only Love, this can suggest testing the waters allows you to “get a feel” for the environment (the natural landscape is a nod to Ariel, the “environmentalist” angel).

Sometimes, we need to build our confidence in something slowly, over time. The angels want you to know they’ll be right there with you, as the card states, “Lean upon us if your confidence wavers, and we will buoy your courage and faith.”

For the end of the week, we have Family.

With this card, the people we may need to see more lovingly this week (See Only Love) might be family members, and there might be an emotional experience within our families that needs some form of healing.

If this is the case, the angels are guiding us to “surround this person (or people) with calming blue light and many angels in your heart and mind.”

As I read that, the reference to blue light brings to mind Archangel Michael, the chief guardian and protection angel. Archangel Michael is known for “cutting the cords” to people and experiences that no longer serve and support us, so you can call upon his energy to help you disconnect in ways that bring you peace.

You can also follow that up with invoking Archangel Raphael to help with healing your heart.

Looking at the card, I notice one of the children holding a globe, as if to offer it to the angel reaching out to hold him. I see this bit of symbolism as a message that our angels are close to us, offering us the potential (children represent the potential for the future) to see the “bigger picture” of the experiences of “our own little worlds” this week.

It reminds me of the adage about seeing the world with the awe and wonder of the eyes of a child (remember Chamuel being the eyes of God). Children see things much differently than adults, so the message could be again about a new and fresh perspective (Chamuel).

Given that the globe can also represent something global and worldly, there may be an event taking place on a larger scale this week that is a call for us to see our similarities rather than focus on our seeming differences.

The children on the card, in this light, are asking us to consider the world we’re creating for them, the future generations. What kind of world do we want to place in their hands, to leave as their legacy?

I think it brings us back to See Only Love, as we hold the thought in our hearts and minds that the world—both our own little worlds and the larger world—can be a loving place.
