In my previous post, I shared this week’s Oracle Outlook reading, which was done with the Lenormand.
In this post, I’m following up with another look at the line, this time through the playing card inserts and the numbers on the cards.
If you want to watch the video of the reading, you can check it out below:
If you prefer to read the text, here it is for you:
You may recall that the reading for the week, using the Dondorf Lenormand, consisted of Moon, Ways, Anchor, Whip, and Ship.
The Dynamics in the Playing Cards
The focus card, Anchor, informed us this could be a week where concerns regarding stability and security take center stage. For me, Anchor is a work card, so the security and stability concerns may be connected to that area of life.
The surrounded cards suggested choices (Ways) that could lead to possible conflict (Whip), concerning either sticking with one’s current work (Anchor) or exploring a venture (Ship) in the future.
And, of course, Ways, being a card of choices, options, and alternatives, appeared this week—the week of the U. S. Presidential Election, when the nation is at a crossroads and needing to make a choice—the best choice going forward.
Aside from reading the line, from the perspective of all the pairings of the cards, I use the playing card inserts to see what additional information can be provided.
On the left side of Anchor, we have 8 of Hearts (Moon) and Queen of Diamonds (Ways). Adding 8 + 12 (Queens are valued at 12), we have a total of 20. The 20th card in the deck is Garden.
Garden is a card that can represent a group of people or a community; with the election having taken place by the time this posts, Garden can represent society and the nation. Being on the side with Moon and Ways, which can be read as the recognition (Moon) of a choice (Ways), Garden can represent “the choice of the people” being honored (Moon).
Aside from that, Garden can also represent the outdoors, or public places and spaces, so this can suggest either work (Anchor as the focus card) with the public, work outdoors, or work dealing with public (Garden) security (Anchor).
In cartomancy, Spades can be read as the suit of service, so Garden can indicate public service. With that, it’s bringing us back to the election, as those being elected actually serve the public.
On the other side of Anchor, we have Jack of Clubs (Whip) and 10 of Spades (Ship). Adding 11 (Jacks are valued at 11) + 10, we have a total of 21, and the 21st card in the deck is Mountain.
Mountain is a challenging card, and one of its keywords is challenge. I read Mountain as blocks and obstacles.
If Whip + Ship can be read as trying to work through and sort out a conflict with the progression of a venture, then Mountain can suggest the possibility of a setback, delay, or even a postponement.
If Whip + Ship is read as the possibility of a repeated conflict progressing, and trying to sort through it, to work things out, then Mountain can suggest an uphill battle.
Totaling the Playing Cards
After looking at the dynamics, I like to add all the playing cards up for any last advice this feature of the Lenormand wants to share.
Adding 8 + 12 + 9 (9 of Spades on Anchor) + 11 + 10, the total is 50. Being that the total is over 36 (there are 36 cards in the deck), I’m adding 5 + 0, which is 5. The 5th card in the deck is Tree.
If Anchor is read as work, then Tree can suggest work in a health-related field, as keywords associated with Tree are health and healing. This would reinforce the possibility of Anchor + Whip suggesting work (Anchor) as a personal trainer (Whip).
Like Anchor, Tree can indicate something that has taken some time, as trees take a long time to grow. So, this reinforces work (Anchor) that has been long-term, that has taken a long time to grow and develop.
With Whip in the line as conflict that may have come as a result of a choice or decision (Ways), Tree can suggest a time for healing the discord.
The 7 of Hearts, as the insert on Tree, can suggest a time to develop more heartfelt and heart-centered connections.
Getting to the Essence
Now that we’ve looked at the playing cards, let’s round out this week’s reading by seeing what the essence card is.
Adding up the numbers on the cards in the line, we have a total of 103 (32 + 22 + 35 + 11 + 3 = 103). Again, the total is over 36, so 1 + 0 + 3 = 4. The 4th card in the deck is House.
House is a card of family, or people who share the same living space, that live under the same roof. So, the situation may involve family, perhaps either work (House can suggest a small or home-based business) or making sure that a family is both comfortable and secure (Anchor being security).
The insert is the King of Hearts, which I sometimes read as “the man of the house.” Given that the election results came in earlier in the week, was this the Lenormand’s way of giving us a “heads up” (King being the head of the household) to get comfortable (House) with the possibility of Trump in the White House?
More likely, the pair of Anchor and House could suggest a time that we focus on security and stability (Anchor) in our personal lives (House).
With Ways, House also tells us that we have to be comfortable (House) with our choices (Ways)—because we’ll have to live (House) with them.
As I mentioned before, I’m completely new to Tarot cards and Angel messages, which I must admit, I truly didn’t think we’re connected! I thought Tarot cards were a form of foreseeing the future, and I was totally unaware of Angel Messages, but I do think as I’m thinking about this, that I wouldn’t have put the 2 sources as joined!
Reflecting on the word Joined, & your mention of the particular state of the world and closer to home, the new Never Thought Possible – New Government.
I am reassured that we do have joined forces guiding us, as I do believe they guide us, rather than we send them instructions! At the time of thought where we might be deliberating about what we want our thoughts put into action, manifested! That’s when, as should be, we are guided into the right request, but cajoling you into believing it’s your request! That is the value of Meditation, that is when we empty our minds, in order that we are receptive to guidance!
Hence, we have been assured that, things have happened differently than expected, but do not doubt, you would not have let it happen, i.e., you wouldn’t have been forewarned in meditation if it was not the right way to go! Hence, the world was ready for what happened as it was meant to be!
So don’t worry! It’s all under control! It has been before it happened! So sit back , trust in your belief of protection, no not protection, prophecy! It was going to happen! So embrace it! As it is how it should be.
Hi, Suzanne,
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and perspectives.
For me, the angels will use whatever form that resonates with me to get a message across. When I first used the Rider-Waite Tarot, I was struck by how much angel imagery is in the deck. Now, thanks to Doreen Virtue, there are a few Angel Tarot decks for people to work with. I find that the angels love coming through when I’m reading with my Universal Waite Tarot!
You mention the idea that Tarot is used to foresee the future, and some readers do use it with that in mind. I think it depends on the reader and the intention. There are many readers, and we all have our own styles. For instance, when I read with Tarot, I like to look at a situation from all possible angles, which is a reflection of my background in psychology and my training as a life coach. My take on foreseeing the future is that it’s one of potentials, and things aren’t written in stone. The seeker is being given information about what could happen, and he or she has free will choices to either stay on or alter the path that’s being presented in the moment.
And thank you for sharing your thoughts on meditation. As a person who meditates daily, I wholeheartedly agree with you on its benefits! 🙂
