For this week’s Oracle Outlook, I’m doing a two-fer: I’m doing a Tarot reading, using one of my Angel card decks.
The deck assisting me for this week’s reading is the Archangel Power Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue, Radleigh Valentine, and Jeff Bedrick, which is published by Hay House.
After an invocation (calling in the energies of the angels), I’m taking the deck in hand, shuffling the cards, and asking Spirit and the angels for the messages pertaining to the week ahead.
The video presentation of this week’s reading is below:
If you prefer to read the text, here it is for you:
After shuffling the deck, I pulled three cards for this reading: the first for the beginning of the week; the second for the middle of the week; and the last to round out the rest of the week.
Cards for the Week
For the beginning of the week, we have Leap of Faith, a signal that you’re about to embark on a new journey—either in the literal or metaphorical sense.
This is a card of new experiences; you’re about to experience a new chapter in your life. You’re getting a clean slate and a fresh start—what will you do with it?
Leap of Faith can suggest that wherever this new chapter takes you, you may not have the experience—but that’s okay! We can’t know everything going in—sometimes we have to learn along the way. There will always be a phase or stage where we’re the beginner, the novice, the one who’s “green” and just starting out. In that sense, the Fool is each and every one of us.
Leap of Faith can suggest having a sense of awe and wonder about it all; it’s about seeing your world with a fresh set of eyes, with a child-like innocence (this card can sometimes represent birth and children in their formative years). What new way could you look at—and therefore have a new experience of—your life this week?
Leap of Faith is a card that can tells us to take that leap, as our young man descends down a natural staircase. It’s a leap of faith, knowing and trusting that Source—the Universe (indicated by sunlight in the sky)—has your back, and will support you along the way.
For some of us (myself included), that first step can be a scary one to take. For some, this card can suggest being carefree and spontaneous, and for others, it can mean being foolish and reckless. We’re not all wired the same way. And that plays into how we view—and experience—new phases and stages.
And, while I’m on the subject of how we are wired, Leap of Faith is a card that asks us to be Who We Are. We’re all different and unique expressions in this world we’ve chosen to be born into—and we’re being encouraged to show up as ourselves. How can we help each other learn to respect and embrace differences in others—when we’re seeking to fit in and be the same?
For the middle of the week, we have 8 of Michael.
8 of Michael can suggest blockages, obstacles, and obstructions; it can suggest you may be unable to see how thoughts of limitation and restriction are keeping you from moving forward.
It could also be, with 8 of Michael, that you may have gotten yourself into a situation where you now can’t see the next step. 8 of Michael arrives on the scene to let you know that most often, you’re only as stuck as you think you are.
It’s interesting that this card follows Leap of Faith, a card about trusting Source that the first step needed to take on a new path or in a new direction will be provided.
8 of Michael can suggest the possibility of being in our heads (the suit of Michael is associated with the intellect and mental activity), which can result in wanting to have everything all figured out before taking a step forward.
I tend to operate from that place, and one of the things I’ve learned, over the course of the past year in developing my connection with the angels, is that Spirit and the angels tend to only inspire and guide us on the next immediate action step we need to take for the journey.
I’ve learned that, if we were shown the entire picture at the beginning, more often than not, we’d talk ourselves out of the journey with our limiting beliefs (“I can’t do that because [insert limiting belief here]…”), so it can sometimes be helpful not to know everything up front.
If you’re feeling pulled and guided to move in a new direction this week, but you also feel you have no idea what your first step could be, you can call on Archangel Michael, the angel depicted on the card, for assistance.
For me, Archangel Michael is the angel who can help us get clear on not only what that step could be, but also empowering us to take it.
For the end of the week, we have 2 of Gabriel, and its message is to consider where you’re at in your life right now—and where you’d like to be in the future.
2 of Gabriel is a card of planning for the future—and with that, beginning to work up a timetable that puts some action with those intentions (Gabriel being a suit of intention and action).
Having goals with a timeline attached to them allows you to know that you’re making progress, each action bringing you one step closer to that bigger, larger success.
This timeline/timetable aspect of 2 of Gabriel can suggest certain elements are being brought together, each one coming onto the scene in its right and perfect time (also known as Divine Timing), and may be contingent on other things being brought into the mix.
The same can be said for people (a reference to the two men on the card) who may play a role or have a hand in the situation. Each person has the ability to make free will choices, which can affect and impact our plans; also, there may be things that have to happen in their own worlds (the world in the corner of the card) that will better prepare them for the parts they will play in our world.
Coming on the heels of 8 of Michael, 2 of Gabriel is the plan–the bigger picture, if you will–that allows you to take that first step (Leap of Faith).
And 2 of Gabriel, for me, can mean that the path you’re on is the right path.
So, it would seem this is a week for us to exercise our ability to trust in Source, and to have faith moving forward.
And that will wrap things up this week—wishing you a Tarot-tastic one, filled with love, light, and many Angel blessings!
