Last week I shared that I’m continuing to receive requests to share more content on the Kipper cards, which I’m pleasantly surprised about, given that I don’t consider myself as proficient with them as Lenormand or Tarot.
In an effort to continue to honor those requests, in addition to last week’s Kipper reading posted in this space, I posted the first installment of a (viewer-requested) video series where I’m sharing the meanings I use when I read with Kipper.
And because of that, I wanted to turn to another system for this week’s reading, and I decided on Lenormand, specifically choosing to work with one of my favorite decks, Le Fanu’s Lilac Dondorf.
As I do every week, I took the deck in hand, shuffled the cards, and I asked what we might expect for the week ahead.
The video below reveals the cards in the reading:
If you prefer to read the post, here it is:
The cards for the week are: Clouds, Lady, Gentleman, Mountain, and Tree.
The first thing that strikes me with the line this week is that Lady and Gentleman are facing each other directly, suggesting a situation surrounding a relationship with a woman and a man.
The typical love and romance cards, Heart and Ring, aren’t present here, so this relationship doesn’t have to necessarily be of a romantic nature (it could, though).
Regardless of the actual nature or dynamic of the relationship, just the fact that both significator cards have turned up highlights the “significance” (I couldn’t help myself) of the situation.
Surrounding cards will tell us more about the participants and what each of them might experience.
Behind Lady we have Clouds, opening up the line this week. Clouds is the most challenging card in the deck, and it can turn up to signal an air of confusion, of being unsure and uncertain, and having doubt.
Behind Lady, this might suggest a woman unsure of herself; with Gentleman facing Lady, and therefore facing Clouds, the cards might be suggesting a man is facing uncertainty about his future with a woman.
Behind Gentleman we have Mountain, another challenging card. Mountain is a card that speaks of challenges, obstacles, and blocks. I also tend to read this card as a setback, a delay, or a postponement.
Gentleman + Mountain might be telling us the man has had a recent challenge or setback, with Mountain behind him.
In his relationship with a woman (Lady), she might find him to be distant (Mountain), and going forward with him (Lady facing Gentleman) might prove to be challenging.
Lady facing Mountain implies facing some type of setback in the future, and it may center on her relationship with a man (Gentleman as the middle card in the line).
Whatever the specifics of the situation, Clouds + Mountain tells us that doubt and uncertainty (Clouds) will become challenging (Mountain), possibly resulting in some type of setback or delay (Mountain).
And that leads to Tree, the final card in this week’s line. Tree is a card of health and healing, so there may be some healing to be done with regard to this relationship.
With Mountain + Tree behind Gentleman, the cards may be telling us of a possible health challenge the man experienced in the past, which may play a part in his uncertainty about the future of a relationship with a woman (Gentleman facing Lady and Clouds).
With Lady facing Tree, the cards suggest the woman be patient (Tree is a card of patience) with the man, especially when the challenges and setbacks appear on the scene.
Tree is a card that can suggest a time of growth and development, because trees take time to grow (and that’s why patience is needed!). Tree is also telling us that the “roots” are there for that growth and development to take place.
In the end, Mountain + Tree reminds the couple that life has its challenges, and it’s a matter of working through them, as Mountain suggests that things are not insurmountable, they can be overcome; it’s just a matter of time.
And Clouds adds these words of wisdom: “And this too shall pass” (clouds being fleeting).
And, with that, I’ll bring the reading to a close.
Hope you have a week of growth and development,
