Your Week in Tarot: Week Ending May 17, 2015

Happy Monday—it’s new weekly Tarot reading day!

For this week’s reading, once again, I’ll be using The Sirian Starseed Tarot by Patricia Cori & Alysa Bartha. It got such a great response last week, I thought, well, why not again this week?

Here’s this week’s reading by video:

If you prefer to read the post, here it is:

Our cards for this week are:

  • Theme: Higher Self
  • Approach: Sage of Chalices
  • Challenge: 6 of Orbs

Your Week in Tarot: Higher Self, Sage of Chalices, and 6 of Orbs, from the Sirian Starseed Tarot by Patricia Cori & Alysa Bartha.

Higher Self (also known as The High Priestess), representing our Theme, asks you to trust your intuition. This is a week to listen to the still, small voice that speaks from within. This is a week of inner guidance and wisdom.

Sirian-Starseed-Tarot-Higher-SelfIf decisions need to be made, Higher Self is a card that suggests waiting for further information. You don’t have all that you need to make a well-informed decision.

And speaking of information, this is a card of news and messages. This can be news or information of a “sensitive” nature, information that’s on a “need to know” basis, or that requires some level of confidentiality (symbolized by the the scroll held by the woman on the card; it can be a visual pun for keeping information “under wraps”).

All of that could suggest information coming to you. On the other hand, the Higher Self can suggest that you have information that maybe you should be holding on to, and be selective as to who you share it with. It’s kind of like not giving out unsolicited advice—let people come and actually ask for the information or knowledge you possess, which is a clearer signal to share what you know. In this vein, just because you know something doesn’t mean everyone you know needs to know it. Not all information is for public consumption.

And finally, Higher Self can represent the deeper study of metaphysics and esoterica. So if you are a student of the intuitive arts (astrology, numerology, palmistry, dreams, Tarot), how might you be able to deepen your studies this week?

This week, let your intuition point the way.

This message about intuition is being reinforced by the Sage of Chalices (known as the Queen of Cups), our Approach card for the week.

Sage of Chalices-Sirian StarseedOur Sage is in her natural element (immersed in water), as she gazes intently through the chalice she holds, using her powers of perception to glean what’s beyond the surface.

Like the woman on the Higher Self card, the Sage of Chalices excels in all things metaphysical. She may be clairvoyant (seeing mental pictures and images), a psychic (seeing through the glass chalice), a Tarot-card reader (a-hem!) or an astrologer. No matter the tool or modality, when the combo of Higher Self and the Sage of Chalices emerges, we are being encouraged to develop the intuitive qualities within us.

The Sage of Chalices, as an approach, is asking us to consider that our spiritual path is flowing through all areas of our lives. Are we going with—or against—that flow?

When the Possible Challenge card for the week, the 6 of Orbs (also known as the 6 of Swords) drifts your way, you are in a state of transition; the waters of life shift from being choppy (burdens, pressures, difficulties) to calm and tranquil. This assistance can come in the form of other people, but more than likely the shift takes place in own your head and being more objective in your thinking.

6 of Orbs-Sirian Starseed TarotIf you actively work with your dreams, the 6 of Orbs is a request to pay attention to your sleep dreams and analyze them for messages regarding your waking life situations. This can be another form of “assistance” to you. This is really being highlighted with both Higher Self and the Sage of Chalices appearing in the same reading, as it suggests that our dreams this week will be vivid or lucid.

If you have an affinity with angels, and work and/or communicate with the angelic realm, this card is a nod to Archangel Metatron. Metatron’s Cube is illuminated on the surface of the ocean, just ahead of our dolphin friend (which represents the ability to channel, as dolphins can breathe both in and out of water, which is a spiritual element) breaking the water’s surface.

The Cube, also known as the Merkaba, is a visual representation of how science and spirituality are really intertwined. Metatron’s Cube can be used as a visual focal point to connect with the archangel, or it can be used as a concentration tool for meditations that promote peace and balance (the number 6). Place an image of the cube anywhere you wish to be reminded of the archangel’s loving, balancing presence. If this aspect of the 6 of Orbs really resonates with you, consider the idea that you are being (intuitively) prompted to learn more about the science of sacred geometry.

For this week, may the waters of your life be still and tranquil…as so it is!

And that wraps up another weekly reading! Wishing you a Tarot-tastic week!
