With 2015 coming to an end very soon, I’ve started my personal reflection of the year, considering what I’ve learned about myself through the experiences I’ve had these past 12 months.
WordPress, the platform I use for this blog, sent me my annual report, and that inspired and motivated me to look over what I’ve done with the blog this year—especially because there was a lot of activity here—a great deal more than in years past.
It all started back in January, when, while driving to church one Sunday morning, I was inspired by Spirit to do a weekly Tarot card reading. And I was also led to embed videos into the posts, something else I hadn’t done with the blog before.
I questioned this, wondering with so many other readers doing a similar thing, what new thing could I bring to the table (pun intended)?
And since I asked the question, I was also given the format. And that’s how “Your Week in Tarot” was born.
In March, I presented a series of Lenormand card readings based on the romantic complications of a few couple from soap operas (confessing that soaps were a long time guilty pleasure of mine).
I had taken up the study of Lenormand at the end of 2014, and thought this would be a great way to get more experience with the cards, reading the situations of others—without going public (which, I suppose I did anyway, posting them on the blog—along with a video).
I continued doing the weekly Tarot card readings, but in the beginning of August, I started feeling like I needed a change of pace. On a lark, I turned to the Lenormand, thinking the reading would be a one-off thing, and I would go back to Tarot the following week.
That reading caused things to move in a new direction.
To my surprise, people wanted to see more Lenormand readings, both here on the blog, and over on my YouTube channel (where I post the videos before embedding them into the blog).
And the “Weekly Outlook with the Lenormand” began. According to WordPress, the most popular post that I wrote in 2015 was one of these Lenormand readings, the weekly outlook for August 17-23 (the other popular posts were written before 2015, so it was nice to see some posts still having staying power).
Even though I shifted the weekly reading to Lenormand, there were also some requests to still do Tarot readings.
Not wanting to disappoint readers, I began scratching my head as to how to do both, in a way that would both satisfy readers and continue to hold my interest.
And the idea for a Lenormand and Tarot tag-team came to me. I would start the tag-team off with a Lenormand reading, and follow up with a Tarot reading that corresponded to the playing cards on the Lenormand cards.
After a couple of months of tag-teaming, I separated the readings out, doing one weekly reading using Tarot and another with the Lenormand.
Which brings me to where I am now. After a solid month of two weekly readings, I was being led back to Tarot (while continuing my Lenormand studies offline, because I absolutely love working with the cards).
So, I end the year how I started: back with “Your Week in Tarot.”
It’s been interesting watching this weekly reading process unfold. And it continues to unfold.
Just as I had a dream last December that got me to pick up Lenormand, I’ve had a dream earlier this month that has taken me to yet another type of card reading, which I’m in the process of studying as I type this.
So, it won’t surprise me if Spirit leads me to do something with that in this space in 2016.
I want to thank you for your presence here with me throughout the year. Whether you’ve been here every week of 2015, or you came here sometime in-between, I appreciate you being here, for your encouragement and support of the blog. It means more to me than I can every adequately express.
Happy New Year! See you in 2016!
